L5 "Les Genêts" - Broom

   Take the direction of the castle (château) and cross the bridge DOURDOU. Turn to your right, until the chapel ST GEORGES. Stay on the way until a very strong turn to the right. Climbing on your right side, you can have a look upon Lunas that you will leave behind you and penetrate into a coniferous forest. After having enjoyed the panorama over the Gravezon-valley, you reach a plateau with view on the place where had been situated the BOUSQUET D'ORB - Mine.

   Reaching the point 596 in MONTJOUX, on the plains of CAUNAS and DIO, you will notice a radical change of the vegetation and landscape.

   A new path, along the steep slope, invites you to a deeper look over the landscape.

   At the cross, take the winding path going to Dio. This village with its castle and its old houses is worth a rest.

   At the church of Dio, take the hiking lane „G.R.", which you will leave soon for a path, which climbs on the left towards the slope. The end of this path obliges you to go down until the street from DIO to VALQUIERES. You leave this tarred street after a very strong turn, in order to get again on a path along the slope, until the junction in direction of Valquières (the restoration of the village is very well executed).

   Slowly you climb towards the "Télécom"-telegraph post (altitude 700 m). You reach a very beautiful chapel, St-Amans, with its roof covered with flat stones. At this point of the track, you have the possibility to walk down to LUNAS, if you go back a little bit on the same way.

   From the chapel, you can look over the region of Lodève and see the "COGEMA" (mine of uranium)

   Little by little, the vegetation (Maquis and Garrigue – low trees and bushes) changes and the more you go down towards Dournie, more there are chestnut trees. A bit further, you will bi dominating the whole valley of the Nize

   Go on in direction of Dournie, after having reached the street, and immediately after the hairpin bend, take a new path leading to MOUNIC LE HAUT and then to MOUNIC LE BAS (High-Mounic and Low-Mounic).

    A little earlier, exterior to this hiking track, you can let yourself "seduce" by the Nize-chapel, which is situated a little lower in a peaceful and shady environment.

   Higher and Lower Mounic lead you through a very beautiful fir wood, on a path with a very particular sinuous line.

   The way back to LUNAS follows the road from Lodève in direction BEDARIEUX.
