The population amounts to 638 inhabitants, the actual village has 250 inhabitants.

The village of LUNAS has been raised during the centuries around three streams :

   -  the GRAVEZON (affluent of the ORB)

   -  the brook NIZE

   - the brook SAINT GEORGES,

the two last ones have their confluence with the GRAVEZON in the heart of the village.

These streams bring the village charm and freshness (particularly pleasant in summer). They are the reason for the presence of eight bridges and five footbridges and one can find the places where five mills still were in activity at the beginning of this century.

Lunas offers between others his places shaded by plane trees which are several centuries old, its church from the 12th century, die ruins of the chapel SAINT-GERORGES from the 5th and 6th century, its castle, built on the bank in "compensation" for the destruction of the fortification in 1629, at the end of the religion wars, dominating the village from the Redondel Rock.

To notice are also two restaurants, with terraces refreshed by the water of the GRAVEZON.

Even if the village had been constructed in the deepest districts of the Hérault and at the bottom of narrow valleys, Lunas is not cut off the world :

* The railway track Béziers-Noussargues-Paris crosses the village.

* Regular buses and shuttles lead until Bédarieux (15 km), Lodève (14 km) and Béziers (50 km).

To mention is also the leisure base " DE LA PRADE ", which has been founded recently, with its swimming and playing installations and possibilities for walking, mountain bike riding and horseback riding and so allows to know the various nature of Lunas.
